Abstract
This research on the influence of financial resource availability on lecturers’ task
accomplishment in public universities in Cross River State adopted the descriptive survey
research design, with one hypothesis to guide it. All lecturers working in the two public
universities in the study area made up the population of the study, with a sample of 577
lecturers randomly picked from selected departments of the two universities. A questionnaire
titled " Availability of Financial Resources and Lecturers’ Task Accomplishment
Questionnaire (AFRLTAQ)." was the instrument for data collection. The hypothesis was tested
at 0.05 level of significance using One-Way Analysis of Variance and Fisher’s Least Significant
Difference (LSD) multiple comparison test. The findings of the study from the analysis of data
showed that financial resource availability significantly influences lecturers’ task
accomplishment in the aspects of teaching, research and community services. It also showed
that the higher the availability of financial resource, the higher lecturers’ task accomplishment
in the universities. It was, in conjunction with other things recommended that Federal
